Dr Zeyad Al-Ogaili

Dr Zeyad Al-Ogaili (MBCHB, FRANZCR, FRCR, FAANMS) completed his graduate medical degree in 2004 at Baghdad University followed by internship. He finished his radiology training at King Hussein hospital in Jordan at the end of 2009.

In 2010 Zeyad was awarded the Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study Master degree in bioethics at the Catholic University of Leuven which he completed with Cum Laude.

In October 2010, Zeyad started his first radiology fellowship in cross sectional body imaging at Sir Charles Gairdner hospital in Perth. Zeyad then undertook a second fellowship training in cardiothorcic imaging at Royal Perth hospital in 2012. Zeyad then pursued further advanced training in Nuclear Medicine which he completed between 2013-2015 at Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner and Fiona Stanley hospitals in Perth.

In July 2015, Zeyad started working as a dual qualified radiologist and nuclear physician at Fiona Stanley hospital and Perth Radiological Clinic.

Zeyad is passionate about teaching and research, particularly in the oncological imaging field. He had multiple publications and scientific presentations, and currently has several ongoing research projects.

Dr Gavin Mackie

Dr Gavin Mackie (MBBS, FRANZCR, FAANMS) completed his medical degree in 1991 at the University of Melbourne followed by an internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook radiology training in Tasmania at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

He then completed his first year of training in Nuclear Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne before completing his final year of training at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

He then worked for four years at the University of Missouri and the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia, Missouri before returning to Tasmania.

Gavin lives in Hobart and also works part-time with BreastScreen Tasmania. He is a member of the RANZCR’s Clinical Radiology Workforce Committee and the Committee for Joint College Training in Nuclear Medicine.

Dr Phillip Law

Dr Phillip Law (MBBS, BSc(Med)Hons, FRANZCR, FAANMS) obtained his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2002, followed by internship and residency at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

Phillip completed his training in Clinical Radiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, with a year of postgraduate fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) focused on Body Imaging. He is also a Level A credentialed specialist in CT coronary angiography.

Phillip completed further specialist training in Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (2010) and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (2011), prior to joining the medical staff of the Princess Alexandra Hospital Radiology Department. In 2014 Phillip was a key member of the team that established the first clinical PET/MRI service in Australia located at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He also pioneered the use of 18F-radiolabelled PSMA PET/CT and PET/MRI in Australia, 18F-florbetaben for the detection of cardiac amyloidosis, and 68Ga-DOTATATE imaging of neuroendocrine tumours and meningiomas using PET/MRI.

Phillip has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers in major clinical and medical imaging journals, several textbook chapters, and presented at many conferences in Australia and internationally. He is also actively involved in teaching medical students, allied health professionals, radiology and nuclear medicine trainees and other medical specialists. He holds the title of Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. Phillip is a Chest and Abdominal Radiology examiner for the RANZCR Part II examinations, and an examiner for the Nuclear Medicine Advanced Training program. He is on the panel of local multidisciplinary teams in melanoma/sarcoma, prostate cancer and lymphoma.

Phillip has been a Radiologist at Qscan since 2010.

Simon Pither

Simon joined the board of Qscan Group Holdings Pty Ltd as Director in 2017 which consists of Qscan Radiology Clinics, North Coast Radiology Group and xradiology.

Simon began his career with Barclays Capital in fixed income research and trading, latterly working in the European High Yield Group. Simon is also a Director of Quadrant investee company Experience Australia.

Stuart Giles

Stuart joined the board of Qscan Group Holdings Pty Ltd as Director in 2017 which consists of Qscan Radiology Clinics, North Coast Radiology Group and xradiology.

Anyone who’s met Stuart knows he brings an energetic and innovative approach to developing commercial success and expanding the boundaries of healthcare. He’s been publicly recognised for his commercial expertise in forums including the 2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year where he was named a Regional Winner and National Finalist.

Dr Susan Ly

Dr Susan Ly (BSc (Med), MBBS, FRANZCR) obtained her medical degree from the University of NSW in 2001, this was followed by an internship and residency at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.

Susan undertook her radiology training at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, NSW. In 2010, she completed a Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship with Qscan Radiology Clinics.

Susan has been working with Qscan Radiology Clinics as a consultant radiologist since 2013. Her subspecialty area of interests are Musculoskeletal Radiology, Sports Medicine Imaging and Intervention, Spinal Imaging and Intervention, as well as Rheumatology and Arthritis Imaging.

Susan is based on the Gold Coast, where she is actively involved in teaching radiology registrars, medical students, as well as other medical and allied health professionals. Susan chairs a regular multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Imaging meeting attended by Rheumatologists, Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeons, as well as Sports Medicine Physicians from around the Gold Coast.

Susan is committed to providing the highest quality subspecialty Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Imaging service to patients and referrers of Qscan Radiology Clinics and has completed a Master of Sports Medicine at the University of Queensland, she continues to be actively involved in research and education through her relationship with the University of Queensland.

Marcus Darville

Marcus joined the board of Qscan Group Holdings Pty Ltd as Chairman in 2017. He is also the Managing Partner of Quadrant Private Equity.

Marcus has over 20 years private equity experience starting in the UK with NatWest Ventures (now Bridgepoint). His role as Chairman of Qscan Group Holdings Pty Ltd involves leading the Group’s development and growth.

Dr Samuel Davis

Dr Sam Davis (MBBS, FRANZCR) is a Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist practicing at Qscan Radiology Clinics and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2006, following completion of a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Imaging.

Sam completed his specialist training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. He then undertook additional training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital with an advanced fellowship in Interventional Radiology during 2015, encompassing hepatobiliary, urological, vascular and oncology interventions.

Sam’s major sub-specialty interests cover diagnostic and interventional radiology with a focus on CT, MRI and ultrasound imaging of the chest, abdomen and vascular system, and management of related conditions.

Currently working as a hospital Staff Specialist, Sam has an ongoing interest in providing education to junior doctors and other health professionals, as well as contributing to research. Sam is currently involved in a clinical trial of a new treatment of liver tumours and a study of new ultrasound techniques assessing liver fibrosis.

Dr Hal Rice

Dr Hal Rice (MBBS, FRANZCR) obtained his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1992 followed by his internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Hal completed his specialist training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital before undertaking an advanced specialist fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the world famous Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001 and 2002.

Since returning to the Gold Coast in Queensland Hal cofounded Qscan Radiology Clinics and also established the Interventional Neuroradiology Service at the Gold Coast Hospital which is now regarded as one of the premier sites in Australia for the endovascular treatment of life threatening brain aneurysms and acute ischaemic stroke. Hal has worked as a Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiologist at the Gold Coast Hospital since 2003 and has previously served as the Deputy Director of Medical Imaging.

Hal has major academic interests in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Imaging, Sports Medicine Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, non-invasive pain management and all fields of advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Hal is an accomplished speaker lecturing locally and internationally. He is actively involved in teaching medical students, allied health professionals, radiology trainees and other medical specialists. Hal is a current Neuroradiology Examiner for the RANZCR College Specialist Examinations. Hal is also a host of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN) 13th world congress to be held on the Gold Coast in November 2015.

Hal is also actively involved with the College of Radiologists currently as a member of the Diagnostic Economic Committee (DEC), Continuing Professional Development Committee (CPD), Quality Use of Diagnostic Imaging Committee (QUDI) and the Queensland Radiologist Branch Committee. He has previously served as the RANZCR Federal Treasurer and a member of the RANZCR Executive Committee and the Federal College Council.

Dr Arash Moghaddam

Dr Arash Moghaddam (MBBS, FRANZCR) has been a Radiologist with Qscan Radiology Clinics since July 2013. Arash studied at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, graduating in 2002. His post graduate radiology training was undertaken at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, followed by a further one year of postgraduate fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at Qscan Radiology Clinics in 2013-14.

Arash has been also working part time at the Prince Charles Hospital where he is actively involved in registrar training and several research projects. His subspecialty interests include musculoskeletal radiology, sports medicine, image-guided musculoskeletal injections, and abdominal and pelvic MRI.
