Ultrasound

At Qscan Southport, we provide a full range of ultrasound services, all carried out by our experienced sonographers and reviewed by specialist radiologists. Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique that uses sound waves to capture real-time images of the body, without exposing patients to radiation. This makes it a great option for people of all ages, including children and pregnant women. Our services include:

Please note, ultrasound exams require both an appointment and a referral. We offer bulk billing for Medicare-eligible scans.

CT-Scan

At Qscan Southport, we offer advanced PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning to help diagnose conditions like cancer, neurological disorders, and heart disease. By tracking how the body processes radioactive tracers, nuclear medicine scans provide valuable insights into organ function and cellular activity. These tests are commonly used to investigate conditions affecting the skeleton, cardiovascular system, and endocrine glands.

Interventional Radiology

Procedures like joint injections, spinal interventions and biopsies are performed under imaging guidance to ensure accuracy. This approach, known as interventional radiology, allows for precise targeting with minimal disruption to surrounding tissue.

  • EUFLEXXA® injections, a form of interventional radiology help manage osteoarthritis pain in synovial joints, including the knees, hips, and shoulders.

EOS Spinal & Body Imaging

EOS imaging provides low-dose, full-body scans in a natural standing position, ideal for assessing spinal alignment and lower limb conditions. It captures both 2D and 3D images simultaneously, supporting accurate planning for orthopaedic and spinal care.

I accidentally forgot my doctor’s referral for my 6:20am MRI appointment. The lady at reception was extremely kind and helpful, and she happily moved my appointment to 7:30am so I had time to get it. Her friendly attitude and excellent customer service were greatly appreciated. Thank you again! 10/06/26

Dave from Qscan Southport gave my dad a Pet CT Scan and made the experience so comforting and easy. My dad’s very anxious and (while keeping his health private) spoke to him so calmly, answered all of his questions, and was just so kind. He knew exactly how to speak to my dad who is a bit quirky and eccentric without judgement. I don’t know how often you would “recommend” a radiologist LOL but Dave deserves a raise! Thank you Dave.

I have just completed my PET scan at Southport clinic. David introduced himself, with a smile, and asked me if I'd had a PET scan before. He explained the procedure. The care and understanding of a patients anxiety prior to a procedure was second to none. David made sure I understood each step of the procedure. While waiting to move to the second stage, I was in a room with a recliner chair, warm blanket, TV. Post procedure, I was given a token to take next door to the coffee shop for Coffee/ toasted sandwich. What a wonderful experience. Thankyou Qscan.

I had a nuclear medicine appointment today at Qscan, Nerang St. I was feeling apprehensive about getting it done, to the point of considering cancelling. From the very first lovely lady at the reception desk, all through the stages, I was treated with the utmost care. Everything was explained in a way that I could understand. Thank you to everyone concerned including Tash and her partner, Brittany and the doctor. Regards Karen .
